With Gratitude: A message from the WBO-MC President

Thanksgiving is a day set aside for each of us to pause, reflect and give thanks for the people who enrich our lives and the good things we have.  What’s on your gratitude list this year? My list is long and includes my family, friends, and Women Business Owners of Montgomery County.

For 41 years, Women Business Owners of Montgomery County has been a driving force in the growth, empowerment, and success of women entrepreneurs by providing education, networking, and support to help them reach their goals and elevate their businesses.

I am grateful that founding members Diane Norcross, Helen Hillstrom, Sharon Fountain, and Lynn Clark had a bold vision and formed WBO-MC when women-owned businesses were still a novelty.

I am thankful for all the past presidents, boards, and members of WBO-MC who picked up the baton to advance the founders’ vision.

I am grateful for the current board and committees that continually look for innovative ways to empower and support all members in person and virtually.

Over the last 20 months, our members have adapted and persevered in the face of business adversity. For this, I am thankful.

We will continue to look for ways to create deeper connections between our members. I am excited that WBO-MC will partner with other business organizations for expanded networking opportunities. We will also give back to the community by supporting women entrepreneurs in need with scholarships and our members’ leadership, business, and mentoring skills.

I hope you’ll join me this Thanksgiving in sharing the gratitude that I feel for being a part of this supportive community.

May your Thanksgiving be filled with the love of family and friends, positivity, and kindness!

With gratitude,

Doris Barber
WBO-MC President
