Networker FAQ
How do I advertise my business in your publications and at meetings? Do I need to be a WBO member? WBO publishes a monthly newsletter (the Networker), an annual business directory, a web site, an annual Gala program and networking referral directory, and the WBO brochure. We also send regular email broadcasts alerting members to events of interest. Any business or individual may place an ad in our newsletter, the Networker, and in the annual Gala program. WBO members may place ads in our business directory which is distributed free of charge around the metro area. Email the Gala Chair for current Gala program guidelines and prices. Our email broadcasts announce events of general interest to business owners. Submit your event via email to the Communication Committee. At meetings, a networking table is provided for members to put business information. What are the guidelines for submitting an ad or article to your publications? WBO welcomes feature articles from members, announcements and display advertisements for the Networker which is distributed to over 600 offices and individuals and to the public libraries. All submissions must be sent electronically or mailed on disk. Articles should be no longer than two double-spaced, typed pages. Articles should be general in nature, on a subject for which you have professional expertise, and not aimed at soliciting business. Articles must be submitted electronically to the editor. Acknowledgment of receipt will be sent via email. Without this acknowledgment, WBO takes no responsibility of receipt of any information or article or of any paid advertisement. Note: The managing editor reserves the right to edit all materials, and to determine when and if an article or advertisement will appear. What is the deadline for submissions? Deadline for submission of articles, display advertisements and announcements is the 1st of each month. For advertisements, only camera ready artwork is accepted. How much does advertising cost? Prepaid ads for 3 or more issues can qualify for discounts of 5 to 20 percent. Download our ad-rate sheet for detailed information.
