1. What are the volunteer
opportunities offered through WBO?
Here are
some of the varied ways you can contribute as a WBO member.
2. How do I suggest
a program?
Email the Program Chair who is listed here.
3. What is Mastermind?
Mastermind is a network and support group
that meets regularly. You must be a WBO member to join a Mastermind
group. More information.
4. What is the WBO
scholarship and how do I apply?
Since 1989, WBO has awarded an annual scholarship
to a woman who is resuming her education to re-enter the workforce
or changing her career and needs some financial assistance. The
scholarship is awarded in conjunction with Montgomery College
and is presented at our annual Gala. More

5. Can I deduct my
dues and other contributions?
Women Business Owners of Montgomery County
is recognized by the IRS as a Section 503(c)(6) non-profit organization
covering business leagues. Contributions or gifts to WBO-MC are
not tax deductible as charitable contributions. However, they
may be tax deductible as ordinary and necessary business expenses.
6. What publications
does WBO have?
A quarterly newsletter (the Networker);
a monthly meeting reminder flyer; an annual business directory;
a web site; an annual Gala program and networking referral directory;
and the WBO brochure. We also send regular email broadcasts alerting
members to events of interest.
